Chris & Rob Desino

The principals of Wellington Equestrian Realty, Rob and Chris Desino were born and raised in Rochester, New York. They were introduced to horses when their parents sent the identical twins to summer camp around age eight, and that passion persisted into adulthood.

Their drive and determination showed early on as the brothers were top performers in every sport they played. But it was competitive rowing where they first made a mark on the national scene.

While attending Hobart College, they were two-time National Collegiate Champions. After graduation, the brothers moved to Philadelphia where they trained and competed for the US National and World Championship Team. Prior to the 2000 Olympics, Rob suffered an unfortunate career-ending injury and they turned their focus to another passion: restaurants.

Rob and Chris created a chain of very successful restaurants throughout Rochester, Buffalo and Syracuse, New York. Operating these restaurants provided the ideal opportunity for Rob and Chris to develop the attention to detail and exemplary customer service that also serves them so well in the real estate industry.

The love of horses still runs deep; in 2007 the Desinos purchased horses from a trainer in Ocala, Florida and wintered there to train and compete. They also worked with a trainer in Wellington and began to make connections there. Over time, they also became involved in equestrian sports as owners and currently own eight high performance competition horses.

After selling their restaurants, the brothers felt that the horse farm real estate business was the logical next step. They began their ventures with Ocala Horse Properties, and shortly thereafter opened Wellington Equestrian Realty. In 2010 they became major supporters of the Winter Equestrian Festival and were the founding sponsor of the Global Dressage Festival.

Cameron Scott, Wellington Real Estate Agent

Wellington Real Estate Agent, Cameron Scott.

Cameron Scott, Wellington Real Estate Agent

Cameron “Cam” Scott, originally from Richmond, Virginia, has been immersed in the horse world most of his life. He grew up showing and foxhunting, earning his colors with the Keswick Hunt and was the first young rider to be hired professionally on the hunt staff as their Whipper-In.

Cam’s professional riding, grooming and barn management career has taken him throughout the U.S. and abroad. He has worked with several FEI level and “A” circuit trainers over the years, becoming an expert at multi-tasking and managing different client needs and personalities.

Wintering in Wellington, Cameron connected with the Desino brothers and Matt Varney who recognized his potential within the real estate industry. He started out working in Marketing, eventually earning his license and working out of the Wellington office.

After several years in Ocala focusing on the start-up of Hudson Phillips Properties and the marketing and sales of luxury residential properties and small horse farms in Marion County, in 2023 he relocated to Wellington to focus on the opportunities provided by the exclusive brokerage agreement with the Winter Equestrian Festival. He has the experience and knowledge to help the WER team take their clients to the next level.

“I’m also looking forward to riding again to rekindle my connections in the Wellington horse scene,” he said. “I really enjoy the cross over from being an equestrian, riding and working with some of the top trainers and clients in the industry, to networking with equestrian clients and connecting them with the horse farm that will best suit their needs.”

In his limited free time Cameron enjoys traveling, paddle boarding, kayaking, and going to the gym. He also has a Kerry Blue Terrier, Ch. Kerrifield Alloy, that he enjoys showing at dog shows, most recently earning his Championship title.

Kristine Cassino, Office Manager

Kristine Cassino joined Wellington Equestrian Realty in 2013 as the Office Manager. In 2017, she expanded her responsibilities by getting her real estate license. She is the main point of contact at the office, acts as closing coordinator and prepares all of the listing agreements, contracts and other documents — making sure the real estate transaction process is seamless for clients.

Kristine also keeps her hands full with the residential leases for WER; sourcing the perfect seasonal and annual rentals for tenants, who many times rent ‘sight unseen’, trusting her judgment based on years of experience.

Kristine has lived in Palm Beach County for over 20 years and has been a South Florida resident for most of her life. She enjoys free time with her family, friends and dog. She also enjoys traveling, trying new restaurants and breweries, listening to live music and attending art festivals.
