Wellington Equestrian Realty, an Official Realtor of WEF and The First Founding Sponsor at AGDF, welcomes our clients back for the 2020 competition season! It’s hard to believe that the 2020 Winter Equestrian Festival (WEF) is officially underway, as the town comes alive with the onslaught of seasonal competitors. This is our favorite time of year, as Wellington Equestrian Realty welcomes back familiar faces and new clients as they settle into their winter facilities. The energy in Wellington is palpable, as everyone is eagerly anticipating the beginning of a new decade of top FEI level competition!
Every week from Wednesday to Sunday, USEF AA level hunter/jumper classes take center stage at WEF, while national and FEI level dressage competitions take place at the Adequan Global Dressage Festival (AGDF). Both of these show venues are part of the Palm Beach International Equestrian Center (PBIEC), world renowned as the largest and longest running horse show series in the world. Spectators marvel at the expanse of the sprawling show grounds which hosts an array of classes for children, amateurs and top professionals throughout the season.
The majority of the FEI level competition takes place at night, with a whopping $13 million in prize money throughout 12 consecutive weeks, running from January 8 through March 29. In addition to the increased prize money this season, improvements to the footing have been made in the grand prix and warm up rings. With 2020 being an Olympic year, spectators will be guaranteed an opportunity to watch the best in the world ride it out for top qualifying results for their respective countries!
As always, entry into the show grounds to spectate is free of charge, as Equestrian Sports Productions (ESP), the managing body of the PBIEC, wants to ensure the show grounds is inclusive to the entire Palm Beach community. In addition to the action packed competition, the show grounds is a family friendly environment, offering an array of dining, shopping and entertainment options. There is a kids fair, which features a petting zoo, pony rides, genuine Venetian Carousel, face painters, street performers, food trucks, and unique shopping experiences!
The following list of top FEI and exhibition classes draw a large number of spectators each year, packing the stands and VIP tents. We hope that you’ll join our team from Wellington Equestrian Realty at the PBIEC this season. Make sure that these dates are firmly on your social calendar!
