Week 3 At Wellington Equestrian Festival

As the prime season gains steam, the calendar of events at for WEF at the PBIEC and AGDF show grounds continues to offer a myriad of activities to keep riders, trainers, owners, and spectators fully entertained.

As the Preferred Realtor of Week 3 at WEF, we feel it’s our job to narrow down the list of top results, activities, and competitions over the next several weeks.

Adequan® Global Dressage Festival “Friday Night Stars” Series showcased FEI World Cup qualifying Grand Prix musical freestyle competition on January 26th. US-based rider, Laura Graves, impressed all the judges with her unbeatable performance.

“Laura Graves and Verdades comfortably captured the FEI World Cup Grand Prix Freestyle presented by US P.R.E. Association with a mesmerizing performance on her own 2016 Rio Olympic team bronze medallist, Verdades. The pair’s emphatic 84.675% is the best score ever given to date at the Adequan® Global Dressage Festival (AGDF) — an annual 12-week dressage circuit at Palm Beach International Equestrian Center (PBIEC) in Wellington, Florida.”

The Grand Prix show jumping competition also continued with “Saturday Night Lights” and the $132,000 Adequan® Grand Prix CSI 3* with some of the world’s best show jumpers competing under the lights in the International Arena. Irishman Darragh Kenny on Cassini Z topped the field of 45 riders, of which 16 advanced to the jump off. Saturday Night Lights has always been a local favorite for spectators who pack the stands to watch top class competition and partake in a lively social evening.

Looking Forward to Week 4

Friday Night Stars at AGDF and Saturday Night Lights at WEF will continue throughout the entire 12 week season. In addition to these hugely popular nights, there’s a few other special showcases that occur throughout the winter.

This upcoming weekend, the Greater Charity Challenge not only offers lively entertainment for spectators, but it also raises money for multiple area charities. The evening is a wonderful reflection on our community and tremendously entertaining, so please see below for details and come out to show your support!

Greater Charity Challenge

Great Charity Challenge, presented by Fidelity Investments®

Heading into its ninth annual event, the Great Charity Challenge, presented by Fidelity Investments® (GCC), will be returning to Wellington on Saturday, February 3. The team relay competition will raise $1.5 million this year. To date, the event has distributed $10.8 million to more than 220 Palm Beach County charities. This family-friendly event offers free general admission and will feature this year’s “A Night When Everyone’s A Star” theme.

Want to take a break from riding and spectating? You’ve come to the right place. WEF offers a variety of boutiques, shops, restaurants, bars, and activities for the whole family! There are art galleries, tack shops, equestrian-inspired retail stores, fashion boutiques, stores for the animal enthusiast, and several choices in restaurants and beverages. Come enjoy an entire day and evening at the Palm Beach International Equestrian Center.

In addition, WEF also holds several workshops and talks at the Wellington Club. There are “Lunch and Learn” sessions which feature talks on horse health, veterinary care, and training techniques.
