USEF Para-Equestrian Dressage National Championships

Gigi on Rio
We have previously featured one Para-Equestrian, Gigi McIntosh, who trains full time with Missy & Jessica Ransehousen at their Blue Hill Farm in Unionville, Pa.

The United States Para-Equestrian Association is the 501C which was formed in 2010 to help foster and support all of the Para-Equestrian disciplines offered to riders throughout the United States.

Competitive Para-Equestrian disciplines include Dressage, Driving and Reining, all of which are part of the United States Equestrian Federation and governed (just as the able body divisions are) by the FEI.

Print“The USPEA is a recognized international affiliate of the United States Equestrian Federation (USEF) which serves as the National Governing Body for the equestrian sport.  This relationship between the USPEA and USEF is to encourage para-equestrian competitors, leisure riders, coaches, fans and enthusiasts to network and get involved with the entire equestrian sport.Ultimately the goal of the USPEA  is to foster growth in the para-equestrian discipline.”

Throughout the week of October 27th – November 1st, top Para-Equestrians will be traveling to Katy Tx to participate in the CPEDI3* and the USEF Para-Equestrian Dressage National Championships.  After that event, riders who need to attain qualifying scores for the 2016 Paralympics, will target Para-Dressage competitions which are offered in conjunction with many of the larger FEI events throughout the county.  One of the largest qualifiers is the Adequan Global Dressage Festival held in Wellington.

The Para-Equestrian qualifiers will be held twice in January and will be selection trials for the 2016 Paralympics being held in Rio.  Wellington Equestrian Realty is a proud sponsor of the 2016 Global Dressage Festival and will continue to share social media updates from the entire festival and of the Para Selection Trials as well!

Below is season’s competition schedule and stay tuned for updates starting in December at the 2016 Global Dressage Festival.
