Gladiator Polo Charges Into the International Polo Club This Season

Leave it to Mark Bellissimo to continue to promote every discipline of equestrian sport to the masses.

Much in the same way that he marketed the Wellington Eventing Showcase to Palm Beach County, Bellissimo has partnered with the US Polo Association for an evening of polo based entertainment.

Free to the public, and loaded with family-friendly entertainment, the Gladiator Polo™ Tournament is targeted to attract new spectators. However, it is still a world class polo tournament with top players competing for a serious prize purse. This week’s match is the second in the series which offers $250K in total prize money!

In addition to the new Gladiator Polo™ series, the International Polo Club (IPC) continues to be one of the world’s top international polo destinations.

“The International Polo Club Palm Beach is the premier polo destination in the world, hosting the largest field of high-goal teams and the most prestigious polo tournaments in the United States. Polo enthusiasts descend upon Wellington, Fla., each winter season to enjoy their love of the sport in the most prominent and well‐equipped polo facility. The 2017 Palm Beach Polo Season will open on Sunday, January 1, and will conclude 17 weeks later with the USPA 113th U.S. Open Polo Championship® final on Sunday, April 23. Polo matches are open to the public, with a wide range of hospitality and guest seating that includes elegant grandstand viewing, field tailgating, stadium seating, field-side champagne brunch at The Pavilion, and exclusive sponsor boxes. – See more here.

Throughout the season, the central focus for spectators is on high goal polo. Teams from throughout the world converge on the IPC to battle it out over those 17 weeks in 7 high goal tournaments. Click here for the 2017 High Goal Polo Schedule

Charitable Functions are also a centerpiece of events at the IPC as well. One such evening is on March 24th, at the Sunset Polo in White Party, which raises funds for Brooke USA, the world’s largest animal welfare charity. Last year’s inaugural event was a huge hit. “Due to the great success of the event, Brooke closed 2016 by reaching a massive milestone – helping two million working equines and 12 million people who depend on them.”
