We are horse owners, horse lovers and farm owners. We have an extensive history in selling farms and love waking up each morning looking forward to what lies ahead. Identical twins Chris & Rob Desino, are experienced real estate professionals who live and breathe the equestrian lifestyle. The identical twin brothers got their riding bugs like most as young kids and competed in the hunters in their hometown of Rochester, NY. While in college, they were National rowing champions and went on to compete on the US National Rowing Team. After their rowing careers, Rob and Chris started and developed a successful chain of restaurants that grew around upstate NY before selling the chain to pursue their real passion: riding horses and selling horse farms for a living.
They started Ocala Horse Properties™, which is the leading farm sales company in Ocala, FL having over 140 listings and selling more than 5x the next Realtor/Company in Ocala over the last two years. This sister company, that is also owned by Rob & Chris, only benefits its Wellington counterpart with its long history of unmatchable advertising budget, outstanding reputation, relationships with trainers and a proven formula for unparralled success. Matt Varney, along with Chris Desino, head up the sales at Wellington Equestrian Realty™. Matt is an accomplished real estate professional who started his real estate career in residential site construction and estimating before switching over to working for a large privately held FL based residential developer. He was the leading salesman in the company and specialized on large property acquisitions and expanded the company’s territory while negotiating and closing contracts with some of the largest builders in the country. Matt’s enthusiasm is contagious and is completely likeable the first time you meet him. He has an amazingly positive attitude and thrives on putting buyers and sellers together. The word ‘no’ is not part of his vocabulary and he only becomes more determined with any challenges thrown his way.
Matt enjoys riding recreationally and lives his equestrian competiveness vicariously through his wife, Courtney Varney, DVM, who is a practicing equine veterinarian and competitive dressage rider. Matt enjoys accompanying Courtney, an accomplished FEI Dressage Rider with her USDF Silver Medal, to as many competitions that he can fit into his busy schedule. In fact, one of Matt and Courtney’s first dates was actually going to a competition at the Winter Equestrian Festival!
